Make a Fallen Heroes Child Your Valentines

Updated: Mar 17, 2023

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9983 in Holly Ridge, North Carolina, recently paid tribute to our fallen heroes this Valentine's Day with a heartwarming campaign that touched the hearts of many. Shelby Burkett and a group of dedicated volunteers worked tirelessly to cut out hearts to hang in the halls of the VFW, creating a touching display of love and respect for our brave soldiers who gave their lives in service to our country.

The Make a Fallen Heroes Child Your Valentines campaign saw the VFW raise over $600 in a meeting that proudly serves the veterans and communities of Sneads Ferry, Topsail, Surf City, Holly Ridge, and Hampstead, NC. The hearts, which were hung in the VFW hall, served as a touching reminder of the sacrifice that our heroes have made for our country. The success of the campaign has inspired other VFW posts to join in the effort to honor our fallen heroes. VFWs across the country have expressed their interest in participating, and the campaign is growing by the day.

The VFW Post 9983's Make a Fallen Heroes Child Your Valentines campaign is a testament to the power of community and the importance of honoring those who have sacrificed so much for our country. The heartfelt tribute serves as a reminder that our fallen heroes will never be forgotten, and that their legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who have been touched by their sacrifice.
