Compass Pointe Community Unites for a Heartwarming Cause: Dolly and Maddy's Mock Wedding

In the heart of Leland, NC, the Compass Point Community came together in a spectacular display of camaraderie, laughter, and generosity. The occasion? A mock wedding for two special mannequins, Dolly and Maddy, organized by retired NY firefighters, veterans, and community members to raise funds for the Children of Fallen Heroes.

The event, attended by over 600 people, showcased the community's unwavering support for a noble cause. The night kicked off with a breathtaking skydiving spectacle—a shooting star cutting across the skies and landing at the event, leaving attendees in awe.

The main focus of the evening was to raise funds for the Children of Fallen Heroes, and the community delivered in spades. An impressive $17,000 was raised, a testament to the generosity and compassion of those present.

Before the mock wedding festivities began, a special moment unfolded as Children of Fallen Heroes recognized Sheriff Brian Chism of Brunswick County, NC, for his outstanding dedication and support for all children in the community. His commitment to making a positive impact on young lives was truly commendable.

As the mock wedding unfolded, joy and laughter echoed through the venue. The organizers, with a playful nod to the future, hinted at a baby shower in 2024—adding an extra layer of excitement to an already heartwarming event.

Ken Wasley, the founder of Children of Fallen Heroes, expressed his gratitude, declaring the Compass Point Mock Wedding as the standout event of 2023. The success of the occasion not only brought the community together for a good cause but also set a precedent for future endeavors in supporting those in need.

In the end, Dolly and Maddy's mock wedding proved that when a community joins forces, magic happens, and hearts are touched. Compass Point showcased the true spirit of unity, making a difference in the lives of children and leaving a lasting impact on everyone involved.
